The first annual Boston Design Center 6th Floor Summer Soiree was an evening a summer fun and gorgeous design. Back in the chill of early spring, the idea of a balmy summer evening with music and tropical drinks seemed like a blissful dream, but in early August it became a festive reality thanks to the showrooms of the BDC’s 6th floor.
The evening was a blur of fun and activity, with over 400 guests in attendance. We were all blown away by the positive response to the event (next year we’ll have more drinks!). Here are a few of the highlights.
Artists for Humanity hosted their best ever raffle. Each showroom donated a fabulous prize to the raffle and all proceeds were donated to AFH, they were thrilled with the response and, after adding it all up realized it was their most successful raffle. The Beautiful student made art hung in the hallways and some of the AFH kids were put to work greeting and guiding guests.
The international theme was so much fun! Each showroom chose a different world culture to represent and did a fantastic job decorating providing food and drinks from their country – we may have created some Friday morning headaches after guests mixed international cocktails all evening – but it was a lot of fun.
Live music in the hallway. Perhaps this should be a more regular occurrence in the BDC! The Camelia Latinjazz Band were wonderful – a treat to listen to and to watch.
Thanks so much to our friends in the Boston Design community for coming out to celebrate design and summer nights with us – save the date for next year!
