The Jewett Farms + Co Studio in Newburyport was a beacon of light, warmth and good smells on a cold wintry night last Monday as the folks from Shindig created wonderful food for the Port City Women’s meeting.

Shindig is a private-chef and event planning company, based in Amesbury, MA and owned by Bethany Scalise and Sean Ryan. Bethany and Chef Sean launched Shindig in 2012 and have been busy hosting cocktail parties, dinners and fundraisers from Cohassett to Newburyport! Together they offer a full range of event services from menu design and invitations to table decor and kitchen clean up.

On Monday night at the JF+Co Studio they cooked and served a traditional Italian Checca, a light, flavorful sauce perfect for spring and summer pasta dishes. JF+Co Showroom manager Linda Janhunen and the guests from Port City Women were treated to a taste of delicious food and a taste of what a home grown local business can achieve. The full working kitchen at Jewett Farms + Co Studio was the perfect space for the Shindiggers to cook and entertain and we love having people put it to use! Our Barroca Soapstone island was a big hit, providing a great space for chef Sean to spread out and show off his skills.
