We are thrilled to welcome a stacked panel of designers and architects to our Boston Design Week event on April 4th. These talented individuals are leaders in their fields and we feel very lucky to share their expertise with you. Read on to meet some of our awesome panelists, and join us on April 4th for this wonderful event.
Jean Verbridge is a principal and co-founder of Siemasko + Verbridge, a design firm providing architectural, interior, and landscape design as well as interior decorating services. Her ability to create
refined and imaginative interiors for a wide variety of spaces is rooted in her approach to interiors
as the extension of the architectural shell. The results are living and working environments where
activities flow easily and where spaces, colors, and decorative details lift the spirit and enhance the daily life of her clients. Whether an expansive family-centric room or a galley kitchen, Jean works with clients to create a setting that fits their style and taste. Her ability to draw the vision out of each client is a testament to her listening skills and problem-solving approach.
Holly Gagne is an Interior Designer based on the North Shore in Rowley, MA. She has been running an independent interior design business for 10 years with a focus on residential & small commercial projects. Her portfolio includes many Jewett Farms kitchens and anything from small styling projects to large-scale new construction. Her team provides a unique expertise in developing mood boards & design drawings that capture the space, materials, furnishings, fixtures and any related design elements that will give visual clarity to the clients prior to sourcing items and beginning construction; making them an integral part of the planning process.
Andrew Sidford’s expertise ranges from historic renovations to contemporary design, and from single-family homes to large-scale commercial and institutional projects. He founded his architectural practice in 1992. His unique designs have garnered accolades and awards, and have been featured in Boston Globe Magazine, Design New England, Northshore Magazine, and numerous others. Andrew’s mission is to inspire clients to want more out of architecture. His interactive design approach helps clients consider all of the short and long term issues which will have the largest impact on overall satisfaction. His work features sun-filled, open, flowing spaces always with strong connections to siting and landscape.
Rick Bernard Is a Senior Architect at Benjamin Nutter Architects. His design philosophy combines traditional architectural roots with modern techniques and contemporary style. Organized and detail oriented, he enjoys working closely with his clients, focusing on their needs. Rick has over 15 years of experience and believes in energy efficient design, recently becoming a Certified Passive House Consultant. He is innovative, creative and embraces a challenge.
Jessica Schwartz is one of two co-founders to Stanton Schwartz Design Group, an interior design firm operating out of the Boston’s Seaport District. Jessica prides herself on creating spaces that are as beautiful as they are functional. She has worked on Retail, Commercial and Residential projects; where her versatility as a designer allows her and her team to make careful considerations appropriate for their clients, their budget, and their timeline through custom interiors and project management. Jessica holds a Masters Degree in Interior Architecture from the New England School of Art and Design and has an undergraduate degree from Cornell University where she majored in Product Development. She has held positions with STA and Bergmeyer Architects before launching her eponymous studio. She lives in the Seaport with her husband, her daughter and their Golden Retriever.
Benjamin Nutter believes that an extensive knowledge of American architecture and sensibility for nature are core principles to successful design. While growing up on a family farm, Ben developed a passion for nature. His architecture embraces its surroundings while providing a place for generations to enjoy. Sensitivity to the design requirements of each project assures a quality architectural service. Ben believes the positive rapport established during a professional relationship is valued. Completed projects reflect an attention to aesthetic and functional considerations, as well as providing comfort and a sense of pride for the Owner and Architect.
Irina MacPhee is principal and founder of Pastiche of Cape Cod and LUXX Magazine. Educated in Europe and the United States, she founded her interior design practice in 1988. Irina’s projects are well-known in New England, California, Savannah and Santa Fe. Her expertise ranges from historic remodeling and renovation to residential new construction. Her unique and innovative designs have garnered numerous awards in both Kitchen Design and Interior Design. Winner and featured interior designer of HGTV’s Designer’s Challenge for her creative transformation of an old sea captain’s house, Irina’s design work has additionally been published in many regional and national shelter magazines. Irina believes that every client holds the secret to the best design. To learn that secret, Irina combines the art of listening with sharp observation to successfully create environments that are uniquely personal to each space. Irina’s designs are creative, innovative, serenely calm and acutely functional. Her knowledge of cooking and understanding of the way things work in the Kitchen make her sensitive to the needs of the novice cook as well as the master chef in any kitchen she designs.
For Irina, great design doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Rather, it is a blend of her professional skill and how the client chooses to live, creating an intimate expression of the client through their homes interior design.
Ken Strainic has worked with the finest English Designers and manufacturers of kitchen furniture, Mark Wilkinson, Smallbone and McCarron and Co – his designs reflect that influence. He believes that good design is invisible – meaning that the integration of design and space when executed properly blends seamlessly with its surroundings. Ken has worked extensively with high-profile successful Chefs including ” The Master Chefs of France” on numerous projects – the Chefs require flawless function to marry with aesthetic design – something Ken incorporates in all of his projects.
