Soapstone Warehouse Now Open
4 Min.Jewett Farms + Co. are excited to announce the evolution of our soapstone business. Due to the high demand for soapstone, we are moving from being purely a fabricator and installer of soapstone to now selling and delivering full slabs of soapstone to both wholesale and retail customers.
Our new soapstone warehouse has the space to hold and display many more slabs of soapstone, allowing us to bring in larger quantities of stone at a time and giving our customers more options.
While New England was once a large supplier of soapstone, over the decades things have changed. There are no more soapstone quarries in New England or Vermont. The only US quarry is in West Virginia and even that does not produce huge volume.
Unfortunately much of the stone being marketed regionally as soapstone is in fact slate and true soapstone is becoming more difficult to find. Given this reality we are excited to be able to bring more real soapstone to the New England market. Learn how to spot a fake.
We are the proud owners of a sturdy flatbed truck that is the perfect vehicle for delivering slabs. Which means that our beautiful, authentic soapstone can now be delivered.
