Middle St.

Overview

This space was completely reimagined from the appliances to the pantry to the eating area. JF designer Paula transformed a cramped and uninspired kitchen into a welcoming, functional space that included a stylish new pantry, home office, and incredible corner appliance wall.

A welcoming view

Before the remodel, an angular peninsula dominated the view from the front door, and tall, bulky window cabinetry separated the kitchen from the living room. Paula moved the kitchen window to center over the sink and removed the tall cabinetry. Now the front door opens to a bright kitchen with a view of the greenery outside. She added a unique curve to the end of the island, which serves to be both beautiful and add functional seating for this family of five.

Using creativity to find space

Paula removed the existing dining space and created a breakfast nook with a window seat, which freed up space within the room to add a gorgeous bar area. The cabinetry here is narrower than standard, and the refrigerator drawers are recessed into the wall to allow for their depth. Clever design that finds solutions without sacrifice.

The beauty of a pantry

Despite the new pantry being smaller in square footage to make room for the appliance corner, the new design gives more storage space and a more open feel. By playing with depth and running cabinetry around the whole room, Paula created magic. The new pantry is light-filled and open with ample storage space.

A desk that tidies itself

Almost anyway! This functional little desk area has upper cabinets for storage and a lovely flip-up door that hides everything away while not in use.
